The next generation of CoralCare's innovative LED light has arrived. CoralCare Gen 2 offers a new slimmer design with passive cooling and wireless control. In addition, we have further refined the light spectrum and distribution to create a more natural look of the reefs, natural light patterns and promote coral growth.

Excellent coral growth and natural reef appearance

Let life blossom with a wide spectral range. Proper lighting is one of the key aspects of maintaining a marine aquarium with corals and reef fish. Corals need the correct light intensity and spectral content to grow effectively, but reef fish also require good colour rendering in order to enjoy the bright and vivid colours of corals. Philips CoralCare's spectral distribution is designed to achieve an ideal balance between these two criteria.

With CoralCare Gen 2, we have further optimized the light formula to improve the natural color rendering in daylight and to maximize coral fluorescence in the evening.

The new design of the Gen 2 includes 68 state-of-the-art LEDs, cleverly grouped into two separate channels for user control. This allows you to control a wide range of color points (from natural daylight to saturated blue), without ever worrying about harming your corals with incorrect spectral content.

Natural Light Models

Philips CoralCare Gen 2 creates a perfect light balance, thanks to its unique light distribution and colour mixing solution.

As with CoralCare Gen 1, the light is mixed and evenly distributed through the light guide and the diffused glass plate. We have further improved this with CoralCare Gen 2 by grouping the LEDs into triangular clusters and adding four clear areas carefully placed in the glass plate.

The location of the clusters is carefully chosen to create subtle but natural light patterns in the water. The transparent areas of the glass plate add additional dynamic lighting effects when points of warm natural colour are selected. This mimics the patterns seen on the ocean floor at noon when the sun is at its highest point. In the evening, when bluish dots are selected, this dynamic effect fades as in nature.

The chosen architecture achieves an ideal balance between efficiency, uniform light distribution in the aquarium, colour homogeneity and the right level of light dynamics.

Easy to control and install

Your CoralCare Gen 2 LED light can be controlled wirelessly or by PC. In addition, it also includes a 0-10V power supply for third party controllers. In addition, your new wireless controller is also compatible with CoralCare Gen 1 luminaires.

Choose from easy-to-use pre-programmed lighting programs or easily create a customized 24-hour lighting program to meet your coral needs. You can even share your lighting schedules with other reefers!

Direct control is useful for maintaining or checking your reef inhabitants. An acclimatisation phase is planned for the introduction of new corals or the installation of new CoralCare lamps, allowing you to gradually increase the intensity of the light according to the needs of your corals. The single box system (with integrated drivers) also includes a suspension kit for quick and efficient installation, with adjustable height and positioning.
